Today Monique Allen is here on the show, and I’ve been looking forward our conversation about life-scaping and burn out in business building, but before we do jump in, Monique will you tell us about life-scaping, what it is and the application of it?

And even deeper, tell us how this came to be- a little of the background of landscaping and the jump into life scaping and what inspired it?

In your first book Stop landscaping start life scaping- and I don’t want you to give it all away, because I want them to go and get that book, but tell us a little about the journey of writing it and the concepts in it and who the book is for

Can you touch on a few important things when it comes to life scaping?

— I have been applying in my business really seasons of hustle- because I know there are for myself busyness but really being more intentional that hustle. Intentional about the steps I take for growth because for myself I really have been sitting back on the things I truly want, and one reason we start a business is for freedom, and for many, it leads to MORE hours working and less flexibility because of project after project and continual hustle until that burnout. And now that I’ve been in business long enough, I really have learned being intentional not only with my work but with the things I say are important, my big values and making time for those relationships and freedom of a day.

So how can we heal from burn out but then also guide ourselves in a way that doesn’t continue that burn out that so many small business owners often feel?

So in our values and boundaries, how can a business communicate those values in a way that attracts in clients and employees?

I always have thought that sticking to those values in my own business and personal life will either make people attracted or repelled which Is what I want in my business- people who are excited and fans and want to work with me or those completely uninterested leaving rooms for those who are excited- didn’t want any Lukewarm followers

What I’ve noticed for myself is the more I lead from the instead out, by leading myself with clarity in purpose, the more my business does grow intentionally and leading from that place of compassion - can you speak on that a bit?

And with leading with compassion, how does that feed into growth and success?

A business that compromises you health and relationships is not sustainable, but so often we are in that comparing and it’s not enough game, that often we aren’t sitting down to let sink it what we need to survive, thrive, and then stop - to put our values where we say they are-

And in a usually more male dominated community, how can women break in and thrive in those?

So a few more business questions-

What’s a book- that you’re loving lately?

If you could go back and start over in business, what’s 1-3 things you’d integrate into business sooner?

Any advice those listening who might be overwhelmed or on their way to burnout, some practical we can be doing to help elevate that stress?

How can we find you, follow you and get your book!?
