Classic Minnesota Country Wedding- Ben & Miranda

Ben & Miranda Holst had a truly perfect classic country minnesota wedding. the whole day was located on their farm, and it had perfect vintage touches, all the details were designed and put together by the bride! (talented and creative!)  i have to admit, i wanted to be wearing one of the bridesmaid dresses.. and boots. They were so cute, and pink! how can you go wrong!?

I've been so blessed, that bridesmaids are willing to help with me dresses, i'm short... so any help is welcomed! miranda's gorgeous dress with a hint of pink is from Belles & Beaus and her boots from country outfitters. if you didn't notice, we used the boots before...worn during the boudoir photos!

i love when the men have fun with photos, and are relaxed. i couldn't have asked for a better group! those laughs and sweet moves. ;)

watching the bride and her sweet mama were the first (but not last) tears for everyone this day. you can see her having to stand behind, no eye contact... save the makeup :)

The floral from Something Blue in Red Wing, i was drooling over. everything was over the top beautiful and it all fit together so well! Miranda's vision was spot on with every detail.

it was a little toasty out, but  the girls did so well, and we had so much fun! love their expressions! look how cute they are! still want that dress. it's from David's Bridal!

i was floored when i saw all the signs. Miranda's friend did them ALL. i thought for sure she went on etsy and spend HUNDREDS and hundreds. they were flawless like the whole day.

i think it adds a unique element when the couple chooses a location that is not only beautiful, but is meaningful. Right in their backyard, they were married and we all celebrated. We also shot some of their engagement photos right there too! This land has been in their family for over 100 years, and their grandparents had been married here as well!

This couple is beyond beautiful together. i was told to watch Ben for when he first saw Miranda, and i'm so glad i did. when he saw her, his love and emotions overflowed. it was such a special moment to capture, and i lost it then too. another blubbering time behind the camera. It always is such a heart-warming ceremony, when the couple chooses to include kids as much as possible. it's so important for them to know that they're just as big a part of this day and they made sure Colton knew that too. He was included in every part possible, and they made sure to hold on to Colton too as they went into the reception. what a blessed family to have one another and love each other so much!

how could i not include these moments between the bride and groom and their best friends. the whole day, i didn't slow down snapping. beautiful people and memories.

we rounded up the wedding party and got some fun shots! brown and pink and the details? my goodness, a photographers dream.

Ben, Miranda, Colton and i got to sneak away for a few minutes for family photos too. look at that big smile! :)

i had a chance to talk to the bride's father. It completely melted my heart to hear him talk about family, and his youngest daughter getting married. Their relationship is beautiful, you can see it during the father daughter dance, and a reception photo singing at the top of their lungs. awesome. seriously. Her parents also surprised them with a cake and cupcakes!

even for the first dance, Ben and Miranda started by dancing together, and then Colton joined in too!

I think he stole the show, with all his dance moves! the DJ was awesome, and kept everyone Dancing. Tony from MixIt Productions, who i highly recommend!

Miranda's words about the the father daughter dance.. " the dance was extremely special to me, i have always been a huge daddy's girl and the second the 2 notes came on to the song, i knew exactly what it was. my obnoxious crying were nothing but tears of joy from the love and support and amazing life my dad and mom have given to me. the song was Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman."

i have to add.. it wasn't obnoxious crying. it was one of those moments that you could truly feel the love they had for one another and how much she was thankful for him and family. So Miranda- even from the outside looking in, it was a perfect moment.

i wanted to share about 100 photos more, especially at the dance! It was a day filled with beauty, laughs, but most of all, family celebrating together. I love to be around families for the wedding day. It allows me to see just a small part of the love and relationships. This family had true respect and cared for one another so much. i couldn't help but hug them and adore how much fun they all had.

Miranda, Ben, & Colton too!- i wish you the very best. i'll be continually praying for your marriage, and am so honored i was able to be a part of your day! you are beautiful inside and out. Congratulations!

****Friends and family!- do you want to see more photographs, and even order a few!? you can! head over to Ben and Miranda's Gallery, and you can purchase prints right from their site! see the whole wedding, and even purchase prints for the couple too! the prints come right to your door! :)

Minnesota Farm Wedding-Scott & Ashley Kennedy

I have been looking forward to this gorgeous wedding for a year! We photographed their engagement photos last fall and all of the details Ashley told me about for their big day, sounded so fun i couldn't wait! If you missed out on their engagement photos, click this link to see them! the day had a little rain and it added such a romantic feel. She and her family had already thought ahead just in case and in a few of the sheds were a lovely spot for groups photos (we also climbed up on one of the wagons for some more unique shots too!)

i was in heaven all day. The girls got ready at Scott and Ashley's house and it made it so special to have these photographs in their home. The dress shot was right in their backyard, those trees are so beautiful! (and one of the bridesmaids and a friend from high school is sneakily behind the dress holding it too. such a sport!)

One of the many things i love about having the opportunity to photograph childhood friends' wedding is seeing so many friends come together and the overwhelming emotions that run for these lovely girls. There is never a dry eye, including my own. i saw her dress, and tears ran down my cheek. Ashley you are truly beautiful inside and out. When i think about younger days, i can always clearly see you laughing and always being true to you.

one aspect about the day is, a lot of brides want to use umbrellas because they're so cute.. and we got to and have it be for good use!

Brody and Scott waited to see Ashley together for the first look, and they all hugged and had a moment giggling and kissing. it couldn't have been more perfect. One of those moments i know i'm doing exactly what i should be, so glad i could capture their smiles!

this smile from Ashley didn't stop all day!

i had to share the group photo above, everyone in the wedding party was so fun and ready for photos and put up with me as long as i needed! so much personality here!

oh this was just too adorable. you can even see some of the raindrops falling while the ceremony started.

one part that completely has stuck with me on this beautiful rainy day is one of the verses that was read during the ceremony. It's Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from. My help comes from you, maker of Heaven and earth. Their ceremony was full of meaningful intimate moments, and that verse just added such beauty.

a few more group shots before the sun went down. i did capture the mooning on the right, but decided to share the one they're still covered.. sorry guys!

Congratulations again Scott and Ashley Kennedy (and Brody too!) it was such an honor to be there on your special day, i adore the love you have for one another and i loved seeing how blessed you are with awesome friends and family. Also, it was the first time i had rumchata shots, and um.. yes they're my favorite. Can't wait to see you both again!

Minnesota Farm Senior photos- Mikayla Miller

Senior photos all around farms, creeks, and trails. i was in absolute heaven around Red Wing and Goodhue Minnesota.

Mikayla is an absolute stunning girl and i'm so blessed to have spent some time with her and her family! they had all the outfits perfectly picked out, locations they thought would be best and it was such an adventure! (great outtake photos were taken too!) but here's more than a few of my favorites.

the first one was at the last location, but one of my absolute favorites from the day. long grass, blue dress and boots? yup, couldn't go wrong!

our first location was this lovely creek and farm area they had scoped out and it was perfect! we started with family photos, and then Mikayla and her sisters too! what could bring more giggles than a cold creek and us all almost falling over a few times. Mikayla (and her family too!) were such troopers... standing, and kneeling in the cold water until i thought we got some great shots!

even though these girls have such bubbly happy personalities, they all pulled off this serious look and it's one i'm having printed too!

ah! this pink dress was gorgeous on you! we also had a few adventures here too! we walked into the pasture with the cows and pony and they came over by us and watched the entire time. yes i definitely have some photographs of this.

onto the trails, and green! we don't get this much green down here, so of COURSE i was loving every moment.

fun-unique-minnesota-photosunique-senior-posesa few more of my absolute favorites for the day.. but i feel like i've said that a lot. i can't help it. You absolutely rocked this photo shoot! serious, laughing, smiling.. you can pull off them all in photos!

why not one more adventure? luckily dad was there to help out and get a ladder. I wish i would've recorded this too. mom and dad encouraging this craziness, and getting Mikayla to climb up! what fun photos to cherish!

You are absolutely beautiful both inside and out, and i'm so glad we were able to spend the evening together getting some fun and fabulous photographs! Joy and family- you made the entire day so fun! so prepared and planned out, i couldn't have asked for more! i hope you enjoy these photographs and never forget the adventure of the day! congratulations Mikayla!

Minnesota farm boys- Levi and Jacob

Happy Friday! whew! i'm finally back home for a couple days before i venture out, and there's so many things to share with you!

when i was in Minnesota this last time, i had the opportunity to see one of my dearest friends, Michelle and photograph her two boys! She had such a cute idea, got them in their overalls, cute hats, and even used a shelf that her husband had made for the house. SO cute.

Michelle and Jeff were behind the scenes making them laugh like crazy. i couldn't stop snapping! and Levi fixed his hat with no direction and looked perfect.

ha i had to include this one of levi. he has some wonderful facial expressions!

they are absolutely adorable!

just one i had to show of sweet jacob crying. one of my faves even with those tears. he was done here, but did So good!

and levi helping him feel better:) what sweet brothers

it's always such a blessing to photograph a family that i truly love and get to catch up with friends from school. It's a wonderful way to see their boys grow, see their lovely home and mostly just laugh and enjoy one another. (and maybe get some DQ after we're finished)

More than you know Matthees family, you bring such joy to my heart!
