Garden Tea Party

Garden Tea Party
A garden theme get together with your favorite girlfriends, absolutely! Tea parties weren’t as popular for a while but over the past few years, tea parties for younger generations have been popping up and it’s a great time to host or enjoy one too! With a resurgence online and even in Pinterest data searches showing a significant increase, the past few years has brought back into fashion very flowy, feminine, and even puffy-sleeved floral dresses and such a cute vibe and we’re here for it. If you step into any store, you’re sure to see them and now here’s a reason to get at least one you’ve had your eyes on!
It often seems those fabulous dresses don’t get enough wear even when we’d love to get them out and strut around so why not throw a little garden tea party or just join Davista Photography in this special until July for a small set up, little cupcakes, and a photoshoot; or add photos to the agenda at your garden tea party!
Are you ready to have your spring garden tea party? If so here’s a few things to keep in mind and add to your event!
How to get ready for your garden tea party:
The outfits:
Get fabulous floral and flowy dresses from Dillards big puffy sleeves are in so you’ll be sure to find the right one for you. Don’t forget the accessories like cute shoes, little ribbons and bows or fasteners, fans, parasol, earrings and necklaces.
The theme:
Pick a floral scheme to make it cohesive. You can still add in fun colors but I went for a spring palette with pink and a little purple roses. You’ll see it wasn’t strict and pops of other spring colors are sprinkled in. Roses, mums, and hydrangeas in a variety of arrangements sizes with add pops throughout the party. Add them on the table, the bar cart, and even a welcome table. Then add in floral linen table cloths for a polished and complete look. Here’s a tip from the shoot: Floral can be tough to find so because this was outdoors, I found the perfect sheets that looked fabulous!
For the rest of decor, take a trip first around your home. You may have more than you think with candles and holders, florals, petit four stands, plates, tea cups and tea pots but if not, head to your local antique store for some beautiful but inexpensive pieces.
The menu:
Choose a light and fresh menu. Everyone loves a grazing table with meats, cheeses, fruit, croissant sandwiches, and added in here are cute mini cupcakes from Sweet Henriettas. Of course find some tea you want to share with the group and choose a couple to go with sandwiches and of course dessert!
Activities:
The photoshoot was the activity for this garden party, focusing on friendship and just enjoying an evening outdoors but adding a floral bouquet station, or crown making could add some exciting take-aways and because it’s more florals, it adds to the aesthetic too! Don’t forget to set the scene with music
The most important thing is have fun hosting. It doesn’t need to be perfect but we all need some time with our friends enjoying our unique style and it allows every one to dress up and enjoy feeling beautiful while surrounding by friends and great conversation and if you don’t want to host, that’s what this photoshoot is for! Book it until July for the special only though Scarlett Magazine.
