Busyness VS Business- EP 3

BUSYNESS VS BUSINESS EP 3

If you’ve ever worn busyness with a badge of honor, this episode is for you. Most of us have been there, wanting to seem busy letting others think we’re constantly at a battle but could handle more on our plate because we can. I found after MUCH time management learning and still continuing to learn that those people, simply don’t manage their time well enough, not to mention haven’t learned to say no to things that won’t further their goals, family, or selves. Don’t don’t read that wrong, i have busy days too. the long days that seem to never end along with. my to do list, but today i want to share some tips about being productive and not just busy.

Managing time can be one of the most difficult things to figure out, business owner or not. We have find our selves in a world wind daze that leave us wondering what the heck just happened. The things that we wanted to do like family trips, gym and business goals just whipped bye without a thought. i’m a full believer in hustling towards goals but i realize hustling 24/7 365 isn’t maintainable or even something i want! It’s not just a balance, because we know that doesn’t exist, it’s down to priorities- seasons of hard work and seasons of sowing.

I can’t skip past one major problem in women especially is the feel to need to seem busy, we have been taught the more busy (volunteer, work, cook, clean, kids, DIY projects, MLM and businesses) are often how we are valued. we talk about the women who never sleep and have more energy than i can imagine. But those are the ones we put worth and value into, and they are AMAZING women but busyness is not a badge of honor. Business however is. Kicking butt at the things you’re passionate about and the things you prioritize is pretty dang awesome. Realize your worth doesn’t lie in doing, it lies in being. A good woman is one with good character, love, empathy, strength, and value in herself to know a break is necessary.

Women tend to give- it’s in our nature, and we find joy in that, and that’s beautiful. But we can be productive and not just busy.

-lists. be clear and to the point of what NEEDS to get done vs what is less important. some days you can accomplish 24 things and sometimes 5 is more than imaginable. My go to solution is to accomplish 5 things per day. No matter how big or how small, and honestly sometimes this doesn’t happen either. that’s what’s great about it- it’s flexible and giving you enough time to get ahead of the game so on days that nothing get done. it’s okay. start again tomorrow

-be honest about time wasters. we all FEEL busy, but how much time do you spend on your phone or in front of the tv. try to seek and carve out some of that time for growth. Say these words “i make time on what matters most to me.” sometimes i pick tv too, but you could stretch and do yoga while in front of tv.

-know that people with goals and dreams don’t say they’re too busy when the project is something they’re passionate about. they learn to say no to the things that don’t further this, but they know they can set small attainable goals.

-you won’t be criticized by people doing more than you. so drown our the noise of other people, you won’t get negative feedback with other people who have big dreams and goals too, just ones stuck in busyness.

Busyness makes us feel drained. we’re doing all the little things to keep up with other people and what they’re doing. Business gives us tasks that encourage and fuel us (alright not always, but it should be exciting!) and these things end up encouraging others through our actions.

a simple example: social media. we may feel like we have to post- and most the time it’s great for our business with the RIGHT strategy, but if you spend most of your time online you’re working IN the business not ON the business. Set up and execute strategies instead so you have something to post and can move on to the meat of the business.

It feels daunting when we compare to other people and if we don’t accomplish 54 things, we’re already behind right? we choose what matters to us and how wonderful we all have different strengths and ideas to contribute. Lets break busy, let’s be productive.
